Drying / Purification
During the process of CO2 drying/purification, residual humidity still contained in the CO2 gas as well as residual water-insoluble contamination are eliminated. This is done by means of a filter system which is filled with a special activated carbon compound.
If required, an additional potassium permanganate filter can be installed in order to remove any possible remaining alcohols and sulphur compounds without residues. During drying, BUSE guarantees that pressure dew points of -50°C are achieved, which is of crucial importance for the following processes of ultra-fine purification and liquefaction, and consequently for the quality of the final product. A dew point-measuring device is included as part of the standard product contents.
The BUSE standard provides vessels out of normal steel, and the drier inlet is made out of stainless steel. As an option, the unit can also be supplied made entirely from stainless steel.
